Holden police arrest two in child pornography cases

1 min read

HOLDEN — Two Holden residents have been arrested on charges related to child pornography following investigations that began earlier this year, authorities said Tuesday.

The Holden Police Department, working with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, initiated the investigations after receiving online tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crimes unit assigned the cases to local detectives.

Cailan Bennett, 39, was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.

In a separate case, James Parker, 72, faces charges for possession and distribution of child pornography.

The tips that led to the arrests were generated as a result of individuals sending or receiving images or videos containing suspected child sexual assault material.

The Holden Police Department has emphasized the importance of collaboration with the ICAC task force and other agencies to address internet crimes against children.

The department has not released further details about the investigations or the circumstances of the arrests.
