BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s South End District arrested a man Thursday evening in connection with an armed robbery.
At about 6:03 p.m., on August 8, officers assigned to District D-4 responded to a call at 341 Harrison Avenue.
The Boston Police Operations team provided a description of the suspect and his last known direction.
Upon arriving at the intersection of Washington Street and Harold Street, officers spotted Kyle Connelly, 28, of Boston, who matched the suspect’s description and was seen holding a knife.
Connelly attempted to escape as police approached but was quickly caught and handcuffed.
A search of his backpack revealed approximately $237 worth of stolen goods, which were subsequently returned to the victimized store.
Connelly has been charged with armed robbery and was found to have two active warrants for Larceny Under $1,200, and Shoplifting by Asportation.
He is scheduled for arraignment at Boston Municipal Court.
