West Haven shooting leaves man injured, police seek witnesses

WEST HAVEN — A man was found shot early Wednesday morning at a local gas station, prompting an investigation by West Haven authorities.

West Haven Police, alongside the Fire Department, responded to a call at approximately 2:45 a.m. at the Citgo gas station located at 62 Elm Street.

Officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds to his leg and arm.

The West Haven Fire & Rescue provided immediate medical treatment before the man was transported to a nearby hospital.

He is reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred on Elm Street between First Ave and Second Ave.

The victim managed to walk to the gas station to seek assistance following the incident.

The West Haven Police Department’s Detective Division is currently investigating the shooting and is asking for the community’s help in gathering information.

Witnesses to the shooting or anyone with surveillance footage capturing the event are encouraged to come forward.
