DERBY — Fred’s Energy sponsored a successful blood drive on August 6 at the Newport ELKS Lodge, attracting numerous donors from Derby and surrounding communities.

The company provided lunch and dinner for donors and held a drawing as a gesture of appreciation. Lorraine Lyon won a $100 gift certificate for products or services, while Yvonne Tessier received a pair of 18-ounce stainless steel travel mugs. Five other participants — Peton Eaton, Michele Craig, Scott Warthin, Jeff Osiensky, and Ed Verge — each won an insulated grocery tote bag.

Building on this success, Fred’s Energy announced plans to sponsor another American Red Cross blood drive on Friday, August 30, at The Morrisville VFW Main Hall on Pleasant Street in Morrisville. The event will include lunch and another drawing for donors.

Fred’s Energy emphasized its commitment to supporting local organizations and community-based events, particularly those with broad community impact.

Potential donors for the upcoming blood drive in Morrisville are encouraged to make appointments through RedCrossBlood.org.
