GRANVILLE — A New York man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car veered off VT Route 100 and landed in a ditch on Aug. 5.
Vermont State Police responded to the single-vehicle accident around 3:28 p.m. amid heavy rain and wet road conditions.
The driver, identified as Robert L. Singleton, 31, of Brooklyn, had already left the scene but was later found at a nearby address.
Singleton’s 2008 Ford Taurus X sustained minor damage, and he suffered minor injuries for which he was treated on site by emergency medical services.
During the subsequent interview, troopers noted signs of impairment and conducted a DUI screening.
Singleton was taken into custody and processed at the Hartford Police Department before being transported to the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks.
He was released with a citation to appear at the Addison County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 19 at 12:30 p.m.
