FAIRFAX — State Police are investigating a series of vehicle-related crimes after a rash of thefts occurred across Fairfax overnight on Aug. 5.

Authorities report that an identified suspect or suspects stole a red 2015 Kia Soul from a residence on Old Academy Street.

The vehicle, which bears the license plate FXX421, was later spotted on the interstate near Colchester but has yet to be recovered.

In addition to the stolen Kia Soul, multiple incidents of larceny from parked vehicles have been reported, as well as other attempted car thefts throughout the town.

As the investigation unfolds, State Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the VSP St. Albans barracks.

The spate of crimes has prompted increased patrols and a call for residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
