CANDIA — A Deerfield man sustained serious injuries in a rollover crash on Route 101 early this morning, according to New Hampshire State Police.
At 12:56 a.m. today, Aug. 6, troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to the Exit 3 onramp of Route 101 westbound after reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle down an embankment on the right side of the onramp.
The driver, identified as Matthew C. Cresswell, 41, of Deerfield, had been ejected from the vehicle and was found with life-threatening injuries.
The initial investigation suggests that Cresswell’s 2006 Honda Element was traveling on the onramp to Route 101 westbound when he lost control.
The vehicle departed from the roadway, went down the embankment, and overturned several times before striking a tree.
The Honda came to a stop roughly 30 feet from the onramp, upright.
Emergency responders transported Cresswell to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Exit 3 onramp was partially closed for about three hours during the investigation and vehicle removal, reopening at 4:06 a.m.
The crash drew a coordinated response from several agencies, including Troop B State Troopers, the State Police Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, and local police and fire departments.
Morgan’s Towing & Repair also assisted at the scene.
