ORLEANS — The 2024 edition of the “Catch the Cure” Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Orleans Country Club, drew 112 golfers from as far as Florida and Maine to support local families affected by cancer.

The annual event, organized in memory of Kyle Buttice, aims to fulfill his wish of “paying it forward” to families on their cancer journey. To date, the organization has supported over 40 families in the Northeast Kingdom and is presently supporting 14 families monthly.

Team Dirty Birdies, consisting of Andy LeConte, Mike Ingram, Ryan Buttice, and Gavin Buttice, claimed the tournament victory. Crawford’s Crew, featuring Craig Crawford, Josh Olney, J P Rancourt, and Cooper Olney, secured second place.

The tournament featured personalized wooden bag tags for all participants, created by Etch N Design, and music provided by DJ Nick Bourassa. A raffle with 40 donated prizes began at the event, with half the prizes drawn and the remainder to be awarded at a follow-up tournament.

The next “Catch the Cure” event is scheduled for Sunday, September 1, at Jay Golf Club. Raffle tickets remain on sale at $10 for one or $25 for three.

Vince and Trish Buttice, organizers of the event, can be contacted for more information about future tournaments and ongoing fundraising efforts.
