Troopers make multiple arrests over the weekend in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks had a busy weekend with several arrests, including charges ranging from driving with an expired license to receiving stolen goods, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

On Sunday, Aug. 4, at 10:54 a.m., Efrain Rivera, 40, of Providence, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of driving with an expired license.

The arrest occurred during a motor vehicle stop on Westfield Street.

Rivera was processed and taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

Later that day, at 4:07 p.m., Ivan Rodriguez, 44, of Pawtucket, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant for two counts of violating a no-contact order.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation, and Rodriguez was located at his residence.

He was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center after being arraigned as a probation/bail violator.

At 6:40 p.m., troopers arrested John Elliott, 36, of North Kingstown, following a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 North.

Elliott faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence and obstructing an officer.

He was processed and held overnight pending arraignment.

On Monday, Aug. 5, at 1:02 a.m., Angel Vicente, 36, of North Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after a stop on Route 146 North in Lincoln.

Vicente was held overnight for arraignment.

Shortly thereafter, at 2:20 a.m., Anastasia Iannuzzi, 28, of Lincoln, was taken into custody on a Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear at a violation hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Iannuzzi was processed and transported to the Women’s Intake Center.

Finally, at 2:35 a.m., Daniel Ferreira, 44, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, was arrested on charges of receiving stolen goods and conspiracy.

The arrest followed a barracks investigation and a vehicle stop on Union Avenue.

Ferreira was held overnight for arraignment.
