WALTHAM — Waltham Police Department, in collaboration with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, is conducting a death investigation after a woman was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound late last night.
Officials responded to the scene in a parking lot next to an apartment building on Second Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. where the victim was discovered and pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the identity of the woman and are urging anyone who may have witnessed any unusual activity in the vicinity early this morning to come forward.

At this point, Waltham PD reassures residents that there is no perceived risk to the public.
