New London man arrested after stabbing, victim in critical condition

NEW LONDON — A New London man has been arrested following a stabbing incident that left another man with life-threatening injuries, police said Friday.

According to the New London Police Department, officers received a call at 9:24 p.m. on Aug. 2 reporting a stabbing victim on the way to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

Upon arrival, police found a 36-year-old male victim who had been stabbed and was critically injured.

The suspect, identified as Jeremy Rolon, born Aug. 15, 2001, admitted to stabbing the victim during a physical domestic altercation at a residence near the intersection of Bank St. and Spring St. Rolon was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries at L+M Hospital and was taken into custody after his release.

Rolon has been charged with first-degree assault and is being held on a $150,000 bond.

The incident is not believed to be random.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
