ANSONIA — After a multi-day search that garnered community support, the Ansonia Police Department has reported that Angela Burnett, a 61-year-old woman who was reported missing since July 30, has been found safe.
In a press release issued on Aug. 3, authorities confirmed that Burnett was located and thanked the public for their assistance in sharing the information which helped in ensuring her safety.
Burnett, who is dependent on medication, was last seen at 9 a.m. near North Cliff Street and was believed to be heading towards the train station for a trip to Stratford.
The Ansonia Police Department issued a Silver Alert and sought the public’s assistance in locating her.
During her disappearance, police expressed concern for her well-being due to the uncertainty regarding whether she had access to her medication.
The police department has not released further details on the circumstances of Burnett’s disappearance or how she was found, but they have expressed gratitude towards everyone who contributed to the search effort.
