Warwick man arrested in fatal hit-and-run

WARWICK — Police arrested a 24-year-old North Kingstown man Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Sunday on Quaker Lane.

Dannys L. De Jesus Marcano was taken into custody at his North Kingstown home after Warwick detectives located the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident, according to the Warwick Police Department.

De Jesus Marcano faces one count of duty to stop in accidents resulting in death and one count of duty to stop in accidents resulting in serious bodily injury.

He is being held for arraignment scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday at the Noel Judicial Complex.

The crash resulted in the death of Nicholas Cote and serious injuries to Logan Barboza, police said.

Warwick police were assisted by the North Kingstown Police Department in making the arrest.

The investigation into the hit-and-run crash began Sunday and concluded with Thursday’s arrest.
