BELLINGHAM — A 33-year-old Connecticut man was arrested Thursday after leading police on a brief vehicle and foot chase in Bellingham, authorities said.

The incident began around 1:37 p.m. when Bellingham police received information from Southborough police about a suspect wanted on felony assault and other serious charges, according to Lt.

Stephen Daigle of the Bellingham Police Department.

Detective Bolles located the suspect driving a stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect fled.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled near Crooks Corner, and the suspect ran away on foot.

Multiple agencies assisted in the search, including state and local K-9 units, drone teams, and the State Police Air Wing.

A reverse 911 call was sent to residents in the affected area.

The suspect was eventually located and arrested with help from community members, Daigle said.

He faces charges of reckless operation, failure to stop for police, and disorderly conduct in Bellingham.

The man, whose identity was not released due to pending charges in Southborough, was transferred to Southborough police custody.
