WOBURN — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Everett Chief of Police Paul Strong announced that Charles Demos, 33, of Rochester, New Hampshire, and David Landry, 35, of Everett, were found guilty by a Middlesex Superior Court jury yesterday in the 2019 murder of Jarrod Harris outside the Karma Lounge.
According to District Attorney Ryan, “Jarrod Harris was assaulted by the defendants as he and many others left a popular club.
When he attempted to flee, the defendants chased him through the crowd, with Demos firing his weapon multiple times.
This act of violence led to Harris being gunned down and endangered many innocent people.”
The incident occurred on Sept. 21, 2019, after Harris left the club around 1:00 a.m. and was confronted by Demos and Landry.
A physical altercation ensued, with Landry wielding a knife and Demos retrieving a gun from his car trunk, eventually shooting Harris four times as he tried to escape.
Harris was later pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Both men fled the scene but were eventually found due to the efforts of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Everett Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police Detectives.
After a ten-day trial, Demos was convicted of first-degree murder and firearm possession, while Landry was found guilty of first-degree murder, firearm possession, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 8 at 2:00 p.m. in courtroom 530.
