BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested a 17-year-old male on Tuesday evening after responding to a call about a person with a gun in the Mattapan neighborhood.
At about 6:25 p.m., on July 30, officers assigned to District B-3 were dispatched to the vicinity of 41 Stockton Street following reports provided by Boston Police Operations of three teenagers behind the address, one of whom was believed to be armed.
Upon officers’ arrival, the group was spotted sitting on the front steps of 45 Stockton Street.
The police noted one male’s suspicious behavior, as he kept his arm pinned to his side and turned his body away.
Officers informed the group they were not allowed on the property and proceeded to conduct a frisk, during which they found a firearm on the juvenile.
The weapon recovered was an FN 509 pistol with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in a magazine with a 15-round capacity.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with multiple firearm offenses, including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a loaded firearm, a large capacity feeding device, and trespassing.
He is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
