Boston police seize firearm, drugs in Dorchester traffic stop

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 26-year-old Attleboro man on firearm and drug charges Tuesday night after a motor vehicle stop in Dorchester.

At about 8:28 p.m., on July 30, police patrolling the area near Washington Street and Dunbar Street spotted a vehicle speeding and proceeding to turn onto Stockton Street at a high rate.

Officers initiated a stop using their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens, pulling the vehicle over at 25 Stockton Street.

During the investigation, the driver, identified as Peda Legendd, was asked to exit the vehicle.

A pat frisk revealed a Ruger EC9 handgun with ammunition and a variety of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, and Fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia and $1,080 in cash.

Specifically, authorities found twenty-five bags of marijuana, fifty marijuana-infused chocolate bars, seven designer packages of the substance, 4.7 grams of powder cocaine, 11.1 grams of cocaine, fifteen pressed pills of Fentanyl weighing 2.5 grams, and five bags of crack cocaine.

Legendd faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Possession with Intent to Distribute for various drug classes.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
