Bethel truck rollover results in serious injuries

BETHEL — A single-vehicle rollover crash involving a tractor trailer on VT RT 107 resulted in severe injuries for a 48-year-old Hardwick man early Tuesday morning.

Chad Trudeau was negotiating a right turn near the intersection of North Road at speeds exceeding the posted limit when his 2007 Mack truck tractor began to overturn.

The vehicle came to an uncontrolled stop on the southern shoulder of the road around 4:01 a.m., according to the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks.

Trudeau, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained suspected significant injuries and was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center by the White River Valley Ambulance Service.

As of Wednesday afternoon, July 31, he remains hospitalized.

The Bethel Fire Department and Department of Motor Vehicle Enforcement provided assistance at the scene of the accident, which totaled the truck.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
