WOODFORD — A Bennington woman was arrested Tuesday morning following a reported trespassing and assault at a residence on Vermont Route 9.

State Police said they responded to the call at 7:52 a.m. and upon investigation, discovered 33-year-old Kayla Willette had violated a no-trespass order.

Willette allegedly assaulted a family member and attempted to break into the home before fleeing the scene.

Troopers encountered Willette later in the day during a traffic stop and found she was also in breach of her conditions of release.

She was taken into custody and charged with burglary, domestic assault, two counts of unlawful trespass, and violation of conditions of release.

After processing at the Shaftsbury barracks, a magistrate set bail at $1,000 and imposed additional conditions for release.

Willette was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility pending further court action.

The names of the victims in domestic violence incidents are withheld to protect their privacy.
