Worcester police investigate serious pedestrian crash on Shrewsbury Street

WORCESTER — A pedestrian was seriously injured when struck by a car on Shrewsbury Street, prompting an extensive investigation by the Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.

At approximately 3:51 p.m. on July 29, police officers, along with paramedics, firefighters, and an off-duty officer, responded to a report of a pedestrian-involved crash near 164 Shrewsbury St.

Upon arrival, the emergency teams provided medical aid to the injured female pedestrian.

The victim was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The initial findings of the investigation indicated that the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a Buick, resulting in severe injuries.

As of now, the Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
