Suspect arrested at Logan Airport in Brockton homicide case

BROCKTON — Massachusetts State Police, in collaboration with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a recent homicide investigation.

On July 24, officers from the Brockton Police Department and State Troopers were dispatched to the scene of a shooting at 27 Vesey Street.

Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds outside the residence.

The victim, identified as Romualdy Pierre-Charles of Brockton, succumbed to his injuries.

Following an intensive investigation, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Marcus Miranda, 20, on charges including murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Miranda was apprehended yesterday at approximately 4:55 p.m. by members of the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and detectives from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office at Logan International Airport as he was about to board a flight out of the country.

Additionally, a murder charge has been filed against Govanni Carapinha, 23, who is already detained on unrelated charges.

Miranda is expected to be arraigned in Brockton District Court as early as today.

Officials have stated that the investigation is still active and ongoing.
