South Portland police issue arrest warrants in weekend robbery case

SOUTH PORTLAND — Following a robbery at the Liberty Commons apartment complex on Friday evening, South Portland Police have identified and issued arrest warrants for two suspects involved in the incident.

The robbery took place on July 26, around 7:28 p.m., when a female victim reported being forcibly removed from her vehicle by two unknown males.

The suspects threatened the use of a weapon during the altercation but did not display one.

The stolen vehicle was recovered in Casco the next morning and has been returned to South Portland for forensic examination.

After an intensive investigation over the weekend and Monday, the South Portland Police Department identified 18-year-old Davyn Flynn of Portland and a 16-year-old male as the suspects.

The minor’s name is being withheld due to his age.

Arrest warrants were issued at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 29, charging Flynn and the juvenile with Robbery (class A), Criminal Threatening (class D), Assault (class D), and Terrorizing (class D).

Authorities have released booking photos of Flynn and urge the public not to approach the suspects if encountered but to contact local law enforcement or dial 9-1-1.

Detective Jon Stearns and Detective Lieutenant Christopher Todd are the primary investigators for this case and can be reached for any information regarding the incident.
