RICHFORD — A local woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after an incident at Davis Park left another Richford resident hospitalized.
Vermont State Police responded to a call at 2137 hours on July 28 regarding an assault that occurred earlier that evening around 1830 hours.
The investigation revealed that Heaven Clogston, 24, allegedly assaulted 51-year-old Adriane Whitfield.
Whitfield suffered injuries requiring hospitalization as a result of the altercation.
Following the investigation, Clogston was located and apprehended by law enforcement.
Clogston was transported to the St. Albans Barracks for processing and subsequently issued a citation to appear in the Franklin County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 30 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge of aggravated assault.
The incident has shaken the small community of Richford, where both the accused and the victim reside.
Local authorities have not disclosed a motive for the attack or the current condition of the victim.
