Troopers make multiple arrests for DUI, forgery, and bench warrants in Providence

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested several individuals on July 28 and 29 for various offenses including driving under the influence, forgery, and outstanding warrants following incidents in Providence and nearby areas.

On July 28, at 8:37 a.m., troopers apprehended Aldex Rodriguez, 26, from Providence, for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test after aiding Providence Fire Department on Hawkins Street.

Following processing at Lincoln Woods Barracks, Rodriguez was arraigned and released to a responsible adult.

Later that morning at 9:43 a.m., Rigoberto Gutierrez, 41, also from Providence, was arrested on charges of forgery of registration plates, providing a false document to a public official, and obstruction of a police officer during a vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue.

Gutierrez was processed, arraigned, and released with a scheduled court date.

In the afternoon at 2:12 p.m., Edward Lassiter, 22, of Central Falls, was taken into custody for domestic disorderly conduct, obstruction of telephone use, and resisting arrest linked to a 911 call for a domestic disturbance on Route 95 North.

Lassiter was held overnight at Lincoln Woods Barracks to appear in court as a probation/bail violator.

At 5:23 p.m., troopers arrested Silvino Barros, 27, from Providence, for a bench warrant related to a failure to appear in court for a suspended license charge.

The arrest occurred after a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue.

Barros was processed, arraigned, and released.

On July 29 at 1:01 a.m., Daniel A. Martinez, 44, of Pawtucket, was charged with DUI after a motor vehicle stop in Central Falls.

Martinez, who had a BAC of .220 and .227, was processed and released to a responsible adult.

An hour later, Roxanna R. Mota Camacho, 41, from Providence, was arrested for obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, and multiple bench warrants for failing to appear in court on charges including driving without a license and shoplifting.

Mota Camacho was held overnight for arraignment as a probation/bail violator.
