RUTLAND — A two-vehicle collision on US RT 7 near Cold River Road led to a citation for a driver with a criminally suspended license on July 25 at approximately 4:13 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Christopher Wilder, 34, of Rutland, was attempting to turn his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado to head northbound on US RT 7 when he failed to yield the right of way to a southbound 2013 Ford Escape, operated by Kimberly Canavan, 37, of West Rutland.

The collision resulted in moderate damage to Wilder’s vehicle and totaled Canavan’s vehicle.

Wilder, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, had two passengers with him: Tiffany Herring-Flint, 32, and a 6-year-old juvenile, both of Rutland.

All occupants of Wilder’s vehicle were reported to be wearing seat belts and did not sustain any injuries.

Canavan, also wearing a seatbelt, suffered suspected minor injuries.

Authorities determined that Wilder’s license was criminally suspended.

He was cited to appear at Rutland Superior Court on a later date for the violation.

The Rutland Town Fire Department provided assistance at the scene of the crash.

No hospitalization was required for any individuals involved in the accident.
