NORTHFIELD — A local man was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly assaulted a family member and threatened harm in the presence of a child.
Vermont State Police said they were called to a family fight on Union Street at 10:06 a.m. After investigating, authorities determined that Joseph Pratt, 43, had attempted to cause bodily injury and made threats during the incident.
Pratt was taken into custody, processed at the Berlin Barracks, and later released with conditions.
He was given a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 29 at 12:30 p.m.
Police did not disclose the name of the victim, adhering to policies regarding victims of domestic violence.
