Dirt bike stolen during test drive in Southbury, police seek information

SOUTHBURY — A blue Yamaha YZ125 dirt bike was stolen from a residence on Old Poverty Road on July 28 at 1:30 p.m., according to the Southbury Police Department.

Authorities reported that a tan SUV, believed to be a Honda Pilot, arrived at 83 Old Poverty Road, where a Hispanic male with neck and hand tattoos expressed interest in purchasing the dirt bike.

The individual had arranged to meet the seller that morning through Facebook Marketplace.

After asking to take the bike for a test drive, the man did not return, and the SUV was seen leaving the area shortly after the bike was taken.

The Southbury Police are seeking assistance from the public to locate the stolen vehicle and identify the suspect.
