BROOKFIELD — A family violence incident on Arapaho Road led to a dramatic police chase and subsequent arrest of the suspect on July 27.
Brookfield Police Department received the emergency call at about 3:45 p.m. reporting the incident.
The victim had barricaded themselves in a bathroom for protection.
Officers arrived swiftly at the scene, secured the victim’s safety, and conducted a search of the house.
Although the suspect had already fled on foot, police were informed the individual might be armed with a knife.
With the help of canine unit Tango, the search extended into the dense woods behind the property.
The suspect was quickly located and, after being warned of the canine’s impending deployment, surrendered to the officers.
The individual, whose identity has not been released in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes, faces multiple charges including unlawful restraint, interfering with an officer, assault in the third degree, and violation of a protective order.
The bond for the suspect has been set at $50,000.
An appearance at Danbury Superior Court is scheduled for July 29.
