BOSTON — A 19-year-old Mattapan resident was arrested Saturday afternoon following a stabbing incident in the city’s downtown area, Boston police said.

At about 4 p.m. on July 27, officers from District A-1 responded to a report of a stabbing at 215 Charles Street.

The victim was quickly attended to by Boston EMS and transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Witnesses at the scene provided a description of the suspect, who was seen fleeing toward the Liberty Hotel.

A subsequent broadcast of the suspect’s details led Massachusetts State Police troopers to locate the individual, identified as Kymani Walker, 19, at Teddy Ebersol’s Red Sox fields.

Walker was arrested and charged with armed assault to murder, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

He is set to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court.
