Two-vehicle crash on I-91 in Sheffield leaves one injured, causes significant damage

SHEFFIELD — A two-vehicle collision occurred on I-91 N near mile marker 145 on July 27, resulting in one driver sustaining minor injuries and significant damage to both vehicles.

According to the St. Johnsbury barracks, the accident happened when a 2019 Nissan Rogue, driven by 27-year-old Brandon Rodd from St. Johnsbury, struck a 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport from the side.

The second vehicle, operated by 71-year-old Ross Duffie from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, was towing a small trailer in the right lane at the time of the impact.

Rodd, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) for further evaluation.

Duffie, who was wearing his seat belt, and his passenger were unharmed.

The crash, which occurred under clear skies and on dry road conditions, resulted in significant front-end damage to Rodd’s vehicle and considerable passenger side damage to Duffie’s vehicle.

Troopers continue to investigate the incident, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
