MOULTONBOROUGH — A small plane crash at the local airport this afternoon prompted a swift emergency response, with the Moultonborough Fire & Police Departments and Stewart’s Ambulance arriving at the scene at 1:06 p.m.
The aircraft, which was found midway down the runway, sustained significant damage and was leaking fuel.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, had already exited the plane by the time responders arrived and reported no injuries.
Stewart’s Ambulance evaluated the pilot on-site, while firefighters quickly managed the fuel spill.
Emergency crews, including the Moultonborough Fire Rescue, worked for about three hours to ensure the area was safe and the hazard contained.
The New Hampshire State Police, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services were also notified, with NH DES taking charge of the cleanup efforts in coordination with Clean Harbors.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
