SUDBURY — A motorcycle and an SUV collided head-on resulting in serious injuries for one and minor injuries for another on July 27 at approximately 12:14 p.m.

Luc Desroches, 46, from Boucherville, PQ, was traveling westbound on VT 73 on his 2023 BMW S1000R motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a right-hand corner and veered into the opposing lane.

Desroches’s motorcycle then collided with an eastbound 2023 GMC Acadia, driven by 41-year-old Alexis Butler of Brandon.

Desroches suffered serious injuries and was transported to Porter Hospital.

Butler sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Both vehicles incurred substantial damage, with Desroches’s motorcycle and the front end of Butler’s SUV being particularly affected.

The Vermont State Police, Whiting Fire Department, and Brandon Area Rescue Squad responded to the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, and a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint is pending.
