BEDFORD — A single-vehicle crash at the Bedford tolls led to the arrest of a Nashua woman on DUI charges Friday evening.
State Troopers from Troop B barracks were called to the scene at the F.E.
Everett Turnpike’s southbound tolls at 5:07 p.m. after reports of an accident.
Upon arrival, they found a Ford Ranger pickup truck with extensive damage within a tollbooth lane.
The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle, driven by Jane Powell, 39, had crossed a concrete divider before striking the concrete structure of the tollbooth.
Powell managed to get out of the truck and was subsequently transported to Elliot Hospital with minor injuries.
There were no injuries reported among tollbooth workers.
The crash resulted in the closure of two E-ZPass lanes for approximately an hour and a half as crews worked on the investigation and cleanup.
One of these lanes is scheduled to remain closed pending further servicing.
Powell faces charges of driving under the influence and reckless conduct.
