HYANNIS — Two men were arrested Thursday on charges including kidnapping, firearms offenses, and assault after a 49-year-old man was found with stab wounds in Hyannis.

Barnstable Police responded to a call at 7 a.m. on Quaker Road where they discovered the victim, who had been held against his will and assaulted in a house.

Eric Randall, 23, of Hyannis, and Richard Villa, 34, of Cotuit, were identified by the victim as the assailants.

The victim reported that Randall and Villa choked him, held him at gunpoint, and stabbed him, threatening his life during the ordeal.

He managed to escape and get help from a neighbor.

Villa was apprehended shortly after the incident, while Randall fled and was caught following a brief chase involving Barnstable Police Officers, Detectives, and DEA agents.

A knife and a loaded “ghost” gun were seized.

Villa’s charges include armed kidnapping, strangulation, and assault with intent to murder.

Randall faces similar charges, along with resisting arrest and property destruction.

He was also wanted for a previous assault in West Barnstable.

Villa was arraigned on July 25 and is held pending a hearing on July 29.

Randall is due for arraignment on July 26 and is being held without bail.
