Hampden police seek driver in hit-and-run mailbox destruction

HAMPDEN — Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a mailbox in ruins on Main Rd North around 11:48 a.m. on Thursday.

A witness reported a silver Toyota 4Runner, heading north, colliding with the mailbox on the northbound side of the road before continuing towards Bangor.

Debris from the vehicle found at the scene corresponds with the witness’s account.

Authorities are requesting residents with roadside cameras to review footage for potential leads.

The suspect’s 4Runner is believed to be missing plastic from the front passenger side, near the grill and headlight.
