HADLEY — A suspect was taken into custody this afternoon following a vehicle crash on Route 9, after Hadley Police Department assisted South Hadley Police in responding to an incident involving a potentially armed individual.
The Hadley Police Department was contacted around 2:30 p.m. by South Hadley Police requesting assistance in stopping a vehicle.
The driver had been involved in an earlier incident in South Hadley and was believed to be armed with a gun.
During the attempt to stop the vehicle, it crashed near Jiffy Lube on Route 9.
The driver was subsequently arrested by South Hadley Police.
The South Hadley Police Department is handling all press inquiries regarding the incident.
