BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 21-year-old Roxbury man Thursday night after allegedly finding him in possession of a loaded firearm.

The arrest occurred at about 7:50 p.m. near 83 Humboldt Ave. when officers on patrol noticed Ricardo Watson, who they believed was exhibiting behaviors associated with being armed.

After observing Watson cross the street and continue to display signs of carrying a firearm, officers stopped him for a suspect stop.

During the investigation, officers recovered a Smith and Wesson SD40 with a large capacity magazine containing thirteen rounds and one round in the chamber from Watson’s waist area.

Watson is facing charges including carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and carrying a loaded firearm.

He is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
