Stamford man arrested with guns, fentanyl after Crime Stoppers tip

STAMFORD — Detectives from the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime unit arrested Kevin Llewellyn on July 20 after receiving a crucial tip through the Crime Stoppers Gun Tip program.

The program, known for its effectiveness in fighting crime, led to surveillance operations on Llewellyn in the West Main Street area.

A collaborative effort between the patrol division and K-9 officers resulted in Llewellyn’s detention near the intersection of Rose Park Avenue and Richmond Hill Avenue.

Upon searching Llewellyn, officers uncovered a Taurus G2C 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine, reported stolen, and a 1911 Rock Island Armory .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun in his possession.

Additionally, 11.5 grams of fentanyl were found inside a fanny pack he was wearing.

Llewellyn now faces multiple charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of Ammunition, Illegal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, Theft of a Firearm, Possession of Narcotics, and Interfering with Police.
