DUXBURY — A keen-eyed detective with the Duxbury Police Department has solved the case of a stolen diamond ring valued at over $14,000 after a thorough investigation leading to the arrest of a delivery man.

On July 20, following a report of a stolen diamond ring from a resident of Tide Acres Lane, Detective Flynn sprang into action.

The victim reported her valuable ring missing from her nightstand, coinciding with the delivery of new furniture to her bedroom.

Detective Flynn, after noticing the new furniture, inquired about the delivery details.

The victim informed him that the purchase was from Villa House, which outsourced the delivery to a “white glove service.” Processing the scene, the detective’s team lifted several unknown fingerprints.

The furniture had arrived on a white truck, reportedly with Rhode Island plates, but without any company lettering.

Further investigation led Detective Flynn to the furniture company, which revealed the delivery service was based in New Jersey.

The trail then pointed to a warehouse in Canton, Massachusetts, from where the furniture was shipped.

Through diligent work and coordination with the warehouse’s management, Detective Flynn obtained the names of the two men who delivered the furniture.

After conducting interviews, the detective was able to recover the stolen ring.

Randy Soriano, 28, has been charged with larceny from a building and larceny over $1,200.
