WORCESTER — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Worcester man on charges of drug trafficking and operating a vehicle with a revoked license and expired registration, police said.
Wilberto Negron, 49, was pulled over at approximately 6:35 p.m. on July 23 after officers noticed he did not use a turn signal while entering a convenience store parking lot on Main Street.
Further investigation revealed Negron’s moped had an expired registration, and his driver’s license was revoked.
According to authorities, a search following Negron’s detainment uncovered nine bags of Fentanyl and one bag of crack cocaine, totaling 22.3 grams and 4.6 grams respectively.
A significant sum of money was also found in his possession.
Negron faces charges of trafficking more than 10 grams of Fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute Class B substances, and motor vehicle violations.
The Worcester Police Department continues its efforts to combat the local drug trade and urges the community to report any suspicious activities.
