WATERTOWN — Watertown Police Department, with the assistance of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and Department of Revenue Services, executed search warrants on July 16 at two local smoke shops following complaints of illegal marijuana sales.

The simultaneous raids targeted Smoke King located on 382 Buckingham Street in Oakville, and Smoke Empire at 544 Straits Turnpike.

Investigators had previously purchased marijuana from both shops, confirming illicit activities.

At Smoke King, authorities seized packaging materials and a small quantity of THC products.

The search at Smoke Empire yielded a more significant haul, including marijuana, marijuana vape products, THC-infused edibles, gummies, and drinks.

Further investigation led to the execution of a search warrant on a vehicle associated with Smoke Empire.

This search uncovered approximately two and a half pounds of marijuana and additional THC-infused gummies and products.

The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the illegal sale of marijuana and related products in the area.

Items seized from the Smoke Empire are currently being documented as evidence.
