Scarborough crash involving three vehicles sends three to hospital

SCARBOROUGH — A motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles occurred on Tuesday at approximately 11:43 a.m. on 175 US RT 1, according to the Scarborough Police Department.

Scarborough Public Safety Communications received the initial report and dispatched emergency personnel from Scarborough, South Portland Fire, and Portland Fire departments to the scene.

Three adults were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision resulted in the temporary blockage of the southbound lane of RT 1, causing brief traffic delays.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
