Salem police seek duo in liquor store theft scheme

1 min read

SALEM — Salem Police Department has launched a “Wanted Wednesday” initiative to locate two suspects involved in a theft at a local liquor store, with the stolen goods totaling nearly $340.

According to authorities, the suspects attempted to outwit store security by placing items in each other’s bags — a tactic they hoped would absolve them of responsibility.

However, the common excuse “I didn’t know those were in there; I didn’t put them in my bag,” did not deter the police from identifying their actions as theft.

The department has made it clear that despite the suspects’ creative approach, the incident is still very much illegal and they are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals for a necessary “chat.”

Anyone with information regarding the suspects or the theft is urged to contact Officer Greeley at 603-893-1911 or via email at [email protected].

The Salem Police Department appreciates the community’s help in resolving this matter.
