MANCHESTER — An adult male was left with life-threatening injuries following an incident where he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 293 early this morning, July 24.
New Hampshire State Police responded to the scene at around 6:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian hit by a Ford E-350 SD work van on the northbound side of I-293 near mile marker 6.6.
The injured man was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford van involved in the accident stopped and is cooperating with the authorities.
State Police have not released the name of the injured man, awaiting notification of his family.
Emergency responders from the Manchester Fire Department and American Medical Response provided assistance at the scene, along with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, which helped manage the traffic disruption.
Northbound lanes were closed for investigation and cleanup but were reopened by 8:20 a.m.
State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the accident.
