Lewiston police arrest 5, seize drugs in search warrant operation

LEWISTON — In a late-night operation on July 23, the Lewiston Police Department, along with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, executed a search warrant at a residence known for drug activity, resulting in multiple arrests and significant drug seizures.

The warrant, served at approximately 11:30 p.m. at 149 College St., led to the discovery of 14 people inside the home.

Five individuals were charged with various crimes as a result of the ongoing investigation.

Derek Demers, 42, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft, while Natasha Walker, 35, was taken into custody for theft and a violation of her release conditions.

Walker is also on probation for previous felony theft convictions.

Cheryl Seaborne, 35, was charged with violating conditions of release.

Lucas Messer, 39, from Auburn, faces charges including aggravated trafficking of fentanyl, a Class A offense, along with two counts of unlawful trafficking, Class B.

Keosha Craig-Pontoo, 33, was arrested for aggravated trafficking of fentanyl and violating release conditions.

Authorities seized $4,028 in suspected drug proceeds, 9.1 grams of methamphetamine, 19.6 grams of cocaine base, and a substantial 46.1 grams of fentanyl.

This marks the third search warrant executed at this address in the past eight months, with a total of 18 arrests stemming from these operations.

The Lewiston Police Department was supported by the Scarborough Police Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in this successful joint effort.
