East Haven police seek public’s help to identify bank robbery suspect

EAST HAVEN — East Haven Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to identify a suspect involved in a bank robbery on Tuesday morning.

At approximately 10:34 a.m., an unidentified male entered Citizens Bank on 263 Hemingway Avenue and robbed the establishment.

The individual, described as a stocky white or Hispanic male with a gray beard, was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a gray and black fleece jacket, dark pants or sweatpants, and light-colored shoes.

Authorities stated that the suspect passed a note to the bank teller and suggested he was armed, although no weapon was visibly presented.

After obtaining an undisclosed sum of money, he fled the scene heading east on River Street.

The East Haven Police Department has released a surveillance image of the suspect and is urging anyone with information or video footage that might lead to his identification to contact them at 203-468-3820.

No injuries were reported in connection with the robbery.
