WORCESTER — Worcester Police Vice Squad officers arrested 53-year-old Natasha Perry after a search warrant led to the discovery of an illegal machine gun and suspected crack cocaine on July 22.
At approximately 8 a.m., officers observed Perry leaving her Florence St residence and entering her black BMW.
The officers, who had a search warrant for both Perry’s vehicle and her home, followed and subsequently stopped her at the intersection of Chandler and Irving St.
Upon detaining Perry, the search of her vehicle and residence yielded what appeared to be a Masterpiece Arms MAC-10-style machine gun, along with a box of ammunition and an extended magazine.
Additionally, officers found a large cache of what is believed to be crack cocaine, complete with paraphernalia and packaging materials.
Perry, who does not possess a firearms or machine gun license, now faces multiple charges.
The charges include Possession of a Machine Gun, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute, Trafficking in Class B 37-99 Grams, Use of a Firearm in a Felony, Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm.
Interim Chief Saucier commended the officers involved: “The recovery of this machine gun shows the dangers the men and woman of the Worcester Police Department face daily.
No tour of duty is routine, especially when officers are executing search warrants to rid our neighborhoods of guns and drugs.
I would like to thank the officers for their professionalism and dedication to getting guns off the streets and keeping the community safe.”
Perry is currently being held pending arraignment on the charges.
