Motorcyclist dies in collision at Holliston intersection

HOLLISTON — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after a crash involving a vehicle at the intersection of Prentice and Mill Streets, police said.

Andrew Palumbo, 62, of Ashland, was operating the motorcycle when the incident occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. First responders from Holliston Police and Fire Departments treated Palumbo at the scene before he was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Despite immediate medical attention, Palumbo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the emergency room.

The 72-year-old male driver of the vehicle, a Holliston resident, was unharmed and has been cooperating with the investigation, according to authorities.

Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

An Assistant District Attorney from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has also been assigned to the case.

Chief of Police Matthew J. Stone confirmed that the case is actively under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
