Motorcycle driver killed in collision with SUV in Rochester

ROCHESTER — A serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Saturday morning claimed the life of a Rochester man, authorities said.

Rochester Police, Fire and Frisbie EMS responded to the intersection of Old Dover Rd and Tebbetts Rd around 9:30 a.m. for a reported collision.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found a heavily damaged 2006 Yamaha V Star motorcycle and its seriously injured driver, Kenneth Meyers, 52, of Rochester, lying next to it.

A 2024 Hyundai Tucson was also at the scene.

The area was closed to traffic as first responders attended to the incident.

Meyers was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the Tucson, Suzanne Pina, 73, also of Rochester, did not sustain injuries in the crash.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene for further examination.

The Strafford County Technical Accident Reconstruction Team was called to assist with the investigation.

The road was reopened to traffic just before 2:30 p.m. after being closed for approximately five hours.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
