KENSINGTON — Residents of Olivia Lane were urged to shelter in place Thursday morning as police responded to a potentially dangerous situation involving an armed individual reportedly barricaded inside a home.
The situation began unfolding early in the day when Kensington Police received reports of a subject with a firearm.
The Seacoast Emergency Response Team (SERT) was deployed to the scene as a precautionary measure.
Officials have not released the identity of the individual or the circumstances leading up to the standoff.
They have, however, emphasized the importance of public safety and are asking people to avoid the area until further notice.
